Reasons for taking courses at Nipissing as a Special Student
- Upgrading
- Qualifying year for a professional or graduate program
- Completion of courses for a professional designation
- General interest
Special Student status is not eligible for OSAP funding. If you plan on applying for OSAP consideration you should apply to degree level studies at Nipissing.
Nipissing has 2 Special Student Categories:
Special Student
- Holders of recognized university degrees are eligible to apply for admission consideration as a Special Student. Course prerequisites must be met for any course you would like to register for.
- Applicants must submit official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended and/or are currently attending. Transcripts must be sent directly to Nipissing from the issuing institutions.
- Access Special Student Application Portal to apply.
Special Interest
- Applicants wishing to complete courses on a special interest basis are welcome to apply. Students can complete up to 18 credits on a special interest basis.
- Once students have completed 18 credits, they must apply for admission consideration to a degree program if they wish to continue taking courses.
